संतो की वाणी

संत कबीर

कबीर ने कहा - 

बुल्ले शाह ने कहा - 

پڑھ پڑھ کتاباں علم دیاں تو ناں رکھ لیا قاضی

ہتھ وچ پھڑ کے تلوار تو ناں رکھ لیا غازی

مکے مدینے گھوم آیا تے تو ناں رکھ لیا حاجی

بلھے شاہ حاصل کی کیتا جِے تو یار نا رکھیا راضی

पढ़ पढ़ किताबां ज्ञान दीआं तो नां रख लिया काजी

हत्थ विच फड़ के तलवार तो नां रख लिया ग़ाज़ी

मुक्के मदीने घूम आया ते तो नां रख लिया हाजी

बलखे शाह प्राप्त कीता जे तो यार ना रख्खिआ तैयार

हल्के  से अलग अंदाज़ में - 

parh parh alim fazal hoyo

kade apne aap nu parhya yi nai

ja ja warhda mandar masita

kade man apne wich warya yi nai

iwe roz shetan nal larne

kade nafs apne nal larya yi nai

bulay sha asmani udthia pharne

jera kar bethe aunu pharya yi nai

मतबल - 

you have read books after books

you never tried to read your inner self

You go daily to mosque & temple 

never tried to go into your inner self

you fight against devil every day

never tried to fight your inner self 

you wana get catch something from sky

but you never tried to get something that's so near to you

That we still seek for external sources of gratification and identity really tells us how uneducated we really are. Let's not glorify the wise man who has read far and wide. If he is truly wise he doesn't seek the glorification anyways. Praise the illiterate man who can read his own self instead. Because in doing so, we ourselves get cleansed.
